QR Code Reader is the fastest and most user-friendly QR reader and barcode scanner available. If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod came with a built-in scanner, this would be it.

HOW THE APP WORKS

To scan a QR code or barcode simply open the app, point the camera at the code, and you’re done! There is no need to take a photo or press a button. QR Code Reader will automatically recognize any code your camera is pointing at.

When scanning a QR code, if the code contains a website URL, you will automatically be taken to the site. If the code just contains text, youll immediately see it. For other formats such as phone numbers, email addresses, or contact info, you will be prompted to take the appropriate action.

PRODUCT BARCODES

QR Code Reader recognizes all of the popular barcode types (UPC, EAN, and ISBN) and shows you pricing, reviews, and more about any products you scan. Barcode scanning requires a newer phone in order to work reliably. Cameras on older devices do not provide the resolution or focus required for barcode scanning.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

• View a history list of all of your past scans
• Scan pictures of QR codes and barcodes from your camera roll
• A switch to turn on your device’s light (if it has one) for scanning in low-light circumstances

REQUIREMENTS

In order to use QR Code Reader, your device must have a built-in camera. When scanning codes that redirect to online content, such as websites, you will need Internet connectivity.

Was getting very frustrated with other, lesser, readers failing to read a business card sized QR code. This one worked a treat!
The QR code how to adjust my toilet valve was printed on the inside of the tank. Under water. I took a pic of it with my iPad then scanned that with the app on my iPhone. No fussy setup or adjustments, the capture was instant and took me to a pdf of the instructions. This app rocks.
Ive had this app for years. Use it a lot to test out QR codes I make for on-screen presentations to t-shirts.
The reader is quick, has light, and does not show ads! It goes straight to your content without intermediary pages or ads on the content screen. The QR Code Generator by QR Code City is a perfect companion, it costs 1.99 in a promotion, creates dynamic codes, has many editing features and most important exports to EPS allowing you to create a custom look the way you want in Corel Draw or other vector editing tool. Furthermore you have pretty good statistics. I reviwed a dozen tools, and in my opinion this one has the best value.

Some bad moments

this app is a total scam. after scanning it connects you to a shopping site
It do not work because when you scan something to let you call it but its not a number so it does not work.
I was using this very good QR reader up to now, leveraging its x-callback feature to navigate from / back to another personal App (to open a specific page based on a value stored in the qr code). Since the last update, this functionality seems to have disappeared and I shall have to find another one for QR code reading prototype Apps.
Makes you create an account to use it, the photo is often bizarrely unfocused, and doesnt deliver results consistently.
First time trying this, and it doesnt even work. 0 star for sure.
